Meitam London

My name is Eunice Bossman- Okai’ brand name is Meitam London. I am a jewellery designer/maker and a visual artist. I have a studio at Thames side studios.

My practice involves working with materials sourced predominantly from the African continent such as African sponges and kola nuts. The materials used are of importance to me because I see value in their ritualistic and domestic origins while also looking beyond their everyday use and seeing how they can be utilised as jewellery and art materials.

I am quite tactile, so texture is always quite relevant in my production, this makes my art and jewellery distinctively detailed, original, timeless, and classic. I deal in one-off handcrafted rare pieces that are produced using a combination of traditional and modern techniques.  The inspiration behind the creations is influenced by spirituality, culture, nature, and texture.
